Zao Wou-Ki, 1935-2010
Auteur(s) : Dominique De Villepin
New augmented edition
Born in Beijing, Zao Wou-Ki (1921-2013) settled in Paris in 1947 to carry on with his studies at the Ecole des beaux-arts, where he mixed with Hartung, Giacometti and Soulages. Matching Chinese traditional technique and Western painting, he is one of the most famous representatives of abstract painting.
This book by Dominique de Villepin gathers here for the first time Zao Wou-Ki's whole work, in chronological order: youth works (more than 50 unpublished canvas), paintings, watercolours, applied arts, and also an illustrated biography and a fortune critique by René Char.
