Dior : Les jardins enchanteurs

Nouveauté

Auteur(s) : Collectif

Christian Dior had a particular love of gardens and flowers, which first blossomed during his childhood in the family home in Granville and developed throughout his life. Flowers accompanied the couturier as an important source of inspiration for his creations, from the ‘New Look’, placed under the emblematic symbol of the corolla, to his first perfume, Miss Dior.

This book explores how flowers and gardens have been an essential element and influence for all of the House's designers, for both couture and fragrances. The chapters present the gardens of Christian Dior's private residences - his childhood home in Granville, his Château de La Colle Noire in Montauroux, the Moulin-du-Coudret in Milly-la-Forêt - revisit the House's historic perfumes and present a collection of dress portraits that reveal the floral inspiration of collections from Christian Dior's time to the present day.

Rare archive documents are presented alongside campaign and exhibition images by eminent photographers such as Henry Clarke, Patrick Demarchelier, Brigitte Niedermair and Paolo Roversi, illustrating an inimitable floral signature that has endured for decades.
