Tadao Ando: Light and Space

Nouveauté

Auteur(s) : Tadao Ando, Richard Pare (photogr.)

Following Tadao Ando: The Colours of Light, published in 1996 and now out of print, this new book presents the ongoing collaboration between Japanese architect Tadao Ando (1941-) and photographer Richard Pare (1948-).

From the Pulitzer Arts Foundation in St. Louis, Missouri, to the Bourse de Commerce project in Paris, the book features Richard Pare's photographs of 28 contemporary projects around the world, including in Japan, Germany, Mexico, South Korea, Italy and the United States. The British photographer's images, most of which have never been published before, offer a unique insight into Ando's particular attention to light and volume, and how they interacted with each other.

Produced in close collaboration with Ando and his studio, this volume opens with a foreword by the architect, an introduction by architect Dominique Perrault and four original drawings that Ando created especially for this book, printed on fine silk paper. An appendix, printed on textured paper, provides additional information on each project, including technical specifications, a brief descriptive text, and detailed sections and plans.
