Pierre Sabatier Sculpteur

Auteur(s) : Domitille d'Orgeval

Trained after World War II at the Ecole nationale supérieure des arts décoratifs, then at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris, the French sculptor Pierre Sabatier (1925-2003) created mosaics and ceramics before specializing, at the end of the 50s, in the work of metal, which became his favourite material. In 1966 he joined the movement "Le Mur vivant", which militated in favour of the integration of arts in architecture, and collaborated with several architects, including Maurice Novarina, Arsène-Henry Brothers, Michel Herbert or Daniel Badani. He worked then on important building programs, notably in la Défense (near Paris), in collaboration with Jean-Paul Viguier, Berthet-Pochy or Franck Hammoutène.

This book is the first monograph devoted to Pierre Sabatier. It studies his work in a chronological way and presents a catalogue of the artist's works.
