Desportes : Catalogue Raisonné

The work of François Desportes (1661-1743) is considerable, as this book, containing more than 1300 reproduced works, attests.

It includes paintings and drawings whose attribution is certain, to be confirmed, or problematic, but also works that have only been mentioned and have not yet been located. The paintings are presented chronologically, the drawings thematically. All the works that have been located are reproduced, mostly in colour, and are accompanied by full notes highlighting François Desportes' taste and talent for realism.
