Degas

This book confronts the work of Degas (1834-1917) with the notion of realism, thus opening up new perspectives. It resizes the creation of the painter, inventor of a new "undefined" space devoted to the modern urban body, and shows how Degas transcends realism in the plastic translation of the tensions of the bourgeois world into revolutionary artistic language.
