The M.v.m. Cappellin Glassworks And The Young Carlo Scarpa

Auteur(s) : Barovier Marino

In June 1925, Giacomo Cappellin (1887-1968) created the Maestri Vetrai Muranesi Cappellin, rapidly considered as one of the bests, for the modernity and quality of his glass pieces.
From 1926 to 1931, the young Venetian architect Carlo Scarpa (1906-1978) became a collaborateur of the glasswork, first as drafter, then as glass designer.
This book retraces the activity of the M.V.M Cappellin during Scarpa's activity period. Fruit of a long search in public and private archives - as after the bankruptcy of the glassware in 1932 its archives were dispersed -, it is illustrated with around 500 works.
