Holly Hunt: Fearless in the World of Design

Nouveauté

Auteur(s) : Holly Hunt

Famous for popularising modernism to the American public at large, Holy Hunt (1945-) created chic, modern furniture that made high-end design accessible to audiences outside New York and Los Angeles. An influential figure on the design scene since the 1980s, she is credited with pioneering the design of gallery-like showrooms with a mix of high-end furnishings and works of art. Hunt's signature design line, with its emphasis on craftsmanship, exact proportions and impeccable materials, is credited with raising standards in the design world.

This monograph presents the collections of furniture, lighting and textiles that Holy Hunt built up over almost forty years, as well as her partnerships with the designers she championed, such as the French minimalist Christian Liaigre, whom she introduced to the American public. The book also presents the designer's homes - her Chicago flat overlooking Lake Michigan and her modernist masterpiece in Aspen, published here for the first time - as well as her renovation of the boutique hotel The Little Nell in Aspen.
