Roger Tallon : Le Design En Mouvement

Auteur(s) : Collectif

Exhibition at Musée des Arts Décoratifs, Paris, 8 September 2016 - 8 Januray 2017

Roger Tallon (1929-2011) was the first one to apply methods from American practices in France in the design field. This pioneer of industrial design began his career designing machine tools, before devoting himself to objects. He focused on the possibilities of new material and manufacturing processes. His projects are always characterized by a global approach which integrated the object in its visual environment.
Based on Roger Tallon's extensive archival material kept at the Musée des Arts décoratifs, this exhibition catalogue presents in details his lifetime achivements: furniture as the TS chair, watches for Lip, transistor, typewriters, ski shoes for Salomon, etc., and also his contribution to the renewal of transportation through his realizations for the French RATP and SNCF (Corail train, Eurostar, Montmartre funicular...), but also Caracas and Mexico City metros.
