Exhibition at the Pinacoteca Giovanni e Marella Agnelli, Turin, 6 April - 8 September 2013
Laurence and Patrick Seguin discovered the work of Jean Prouvé (1901-1984), in the late 1980s, through his furniture designs, and were immediately struck by the unique aesthetic of these pieces. The couple then began to take an interest in Jean Prouvé's work as a whole, of which the furniture is only a part. Thus they discovered and purchased his architectures. From the opening of their gallery in 1989, Laurence and Patrick Seguin undertook a rigorous work to promote Jean Prouvé's creations.
This exhibition catalogue presents for the first time works from their private collection. Around 40 pieces, most of them prototypes or extremely rare, are studied, along with the Maison Métropole, masterpiece of nomadic housing.
