Exhibition at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs, Paris, 11 March - 14 June 2015
Draftsman, painter, engraver, printer, designer, Piero Fornasetti (1913-1988) worked with genius in several media. Internationally famous thanks to the impassive and lunar woman face of which he made his main subject, he also was a privileged interlocutor of architect Gio Ponti, with whom he created decors which marked the history of modern design.
Gathering more than thousand pieces from his archives, this catalogue of the first retrospective devoted to Fornasetti in France portrays of a fiercely independent artist, virtuoso of dream and illusion.
