Paolo Roversi

Auteur(s) : Collectif

Exhibition at the Palais Galliera, Paris, 16 March - 14 July 2024

Originally from Ravenna, Paolo Roversi has lived in Paris since 1973, where he has worked for prestigious magazines (Italian and French Vogue, Egoïste, Luncheon, etc.). His career has been marked by his collaboration with the greatest fashion designers, notably Yohji Yamamoto, Romeo Gigli and Rei Kawakubo for Comme des Garçons.

A major figure in French photography over the last forty years, he has remained both at the heart of the system and at a distance, far removed from the ephemeral currents of fashion. In his search for beauty, he has honestly created a unique and mysterious body of work over which time has no control. His choice of studio, large-format camera and Polaroid define the photographer's way of working and his style.

Designed in close collaboration with Paolo Roversi, this exhibition catalogue brings together 140 works, including previously unseen images, Polaroid prints and archives (magazines, catalogues, etc.), revealing the professional and artistic career of an exceptional fashion photographer.
