Les Stucs : Chefs-D'oeuvre Méconnus De L'histoire De L'art

Auteur(s) : Alessandra Zamperini

This book is the first one to present an almost complete history of stucco in Europe. Stucco has yet not been much studied and has not benefit from the attention given to painting, sculpture, and architecture. Even so, stucco, white or polychrome, born in ancient Egypt, was very successful in classical times, then from the Renaissance until the 19th century. He was used by Raphael in the Vatican Loggias et was introduced in France by Francis I in the royal château de Fontainebleau.
