After their wedding in November 1844, the Duke and Duchess d'Aumale commissioned the decorator Eugène Lami to design private flats in the heart of the Château de Chantilly in keeping with current tastes. One of the first historicist ensembles in France, they are also the only princely flats of the July Monarchy to be so well preserved. The premises were completely restored between 2016 and 2019.
This book offers a new history of these exceptional flats which are studied room by room. One section is devoted to the major restoration project.
