This book, first volume of the catalogue raisonné of Jean Pougny (1891-1956), is not only the systematic catalogue of his work created in Russia and Berlin from 1910 to 1923. It situates the painter, alongside Tatlin and Malevich, at the origins of Russian avant-garde movements and provides a very rare documentation on a period decisive for the origins of contemporary art.
Each work on this catalogue raisonné is fully documented.
