Janine Abraham and Dirk-Jan Rol, two-faced designers, met in Jacques Dumond's studio in 1955. The couple shared a love of rigour, line and flat colours. Their first joint creations were presented at the Salon des artistes décorateurs in 1956.
Authors of numerous interior designs for private individuals, as well as for major brands such as Les Huchers-Minvielle, Yves Rocher and Conforama, Abraham & Rol also expressed their great creativity through architecture, a field in which the couple designed, from the 1960s to the 2000s, some twenty houses, mainly in the Île-de-France region.
This monograph, based on period documents and contemporary photographs, highlights the coherence and rigour of the career of these heralds of the 1950s style.
