Proust Et Les Arts : D'étoiles En Étoiles

Auteur(s) : Thierry Laget

Written as a narrative, this book looks at the life and work of Marcel Proust (1871-1922) through the prism of his artistic tastes, from his first steps in search of a vocation to those of the novelist inventing the painter Elstir in A la recherche du temps perdu. The writer built up this vast aesthetic culture throughout his life, frequenting galleries, museums, designers, and visiting art cities.

The book examines the works that Proust loved, from Giotto's frescoes to Vermeer's View of Delft, but also countless hidden, more secret paintings, explored page by page, right down to the traces of the mysterious Elstir.
