This book presents the work of the painter, draughtsman and engraver Pierre Lesieur (1922-2011).
In the 1950s, his paintings were characterised by the use of bright flat colours, in line with the work of Matisse and Bonnard. In the 1960s, this research bordered on abstraction, particularly in still lifes and representations of objects. From the 1970s onwards, Pierre Lesieur became interested in interiors, portraits and female nudes through his paintings and drawings.
Pierre Lesieur was quickly recognized as an important artist and he acquires an international reputation from the 1990s when he exhibits in Japan and the United States.
