Exhibition at the Musée national de l'Orangerie, Paris, 13 April - 20 August 2018
In 1955, Alfred Barr brought a large panel of Claude Monet's Water Lilies to the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
This exhibition catalogue puts into perspective the influence of this work on artists belonging to the American Abstract Expressionist movement of the New York School, including Jackson Pollock, Mark Rothko, Clyfford Still, Barnett Newman, Morris Louis and Philip Guston.
