Max Ingrand : Du Verre A La Lumière

Auteur(s) : Pierre-Emmanuel Martin-Vivier

Fascinated by the reflection of light in Chartres cathedral's stained-glass windows, Max Ingrand (1908-1969) explored during forty years the multiple fields of glass. Major major of Art deco, he collaborated to the shipyard of the Normandie, worked for the greatest decorators, Jules Leleu, Marc du Plantier, André Arbus, or for architects as Pierre Patout or Charles Siclis. After World War II, Ingrand came back to stained-glass work, before designing lamps and incandescent wall lamps. Some of these lamps, fifty years after their creation, became classics. During thirteen years, he was artistic manager of Fontana Arte, created by Gio Ponti, before setting up his own company, Verre Lumière.
This book reveals, through archives and contemporary photographs, the richness and the diversity of Max Ingrand's work.
