Auteur(s) : Jacqueline Du Pasquier, Jean Jacques Wattel

Born in Lugano, Mattia Bonetti (1952-) moved to Paris in 1973 where he designed for the textile industry, then worked as a photographic artist. From 1979, he became a designer-decorator and created collections of furniture and objects in unique pieces or limited series. From 1981 to 2001, he worked within the Garouste & Bonetti collective, creating numerous interiors for private individuals or public places in France and abroad, while developing industrial products. Mattia Bonetti has also created numerous pieces of furniture for the decorator Jacques Grange for The Mark Hotel in New York, decorated the Cristal Hôtel Champs Elysées, and created several ecclesiastical works in Paris, Nanterre and Metz. In 2005, he received the "Best Original Design Award" from the Anglo-Saxon press for his furniture collection at the David Gill Gallery in London.

This two-volume book presents the Swiss designer's artistic career and work through photographs of furniture, creations and decorations accompanied by numerous reproductions of the artist's drawings. The first volume is devoted to his early years, the second to his recent achievements.
