Marguerite Peltzer

For the German-born French sculptor Marguerite Peltzer (1897-1991), the female nude was a favourite subject in the 1920s and 1930s. Through the subtle sensuality of the bodies, she expressed the intangibility of her emotions as much as her own contradictions. Although she was noticed by the critics of her time and by the town of Thonon-les-Bains, where she spent her last years, the artist is still little-known and deserves to be more widely known.
