Percival D. Griffiths (1861-1937), together with the eminent Robert W. Symonds, built up a pioneering collection of early English decorative arts: furniture, domestic needlework and related objects, all dating from the seventeenth and first half of the eighteenth centuries.
This two-volume work examines and illustrates nearly 700 pieces from this exceptional collection. It includes illustrations of Griffiths' interiors, as well as his biography. Catalogue entries provide colour images, exhibition history, references and provenance.
