Pissarro À Éragny : La Nature Retrouvée

Auteur(s) : Collectif

Exhibition at the Musée du Luxembourg, Paris, 16 March 2017 - 9 July 2017

In 1884, Camille Pissarro (1830-1903) settled in Éragny-sur-Epte village in a beautiful house of which he became the owner thanks to a loan of Claude Monet, and where he remained all his life. During an intense artistic and intellectual ferment, Pissarro made up his political convictions in his paintings as in his way of life.
In this exhibition catalogue, around a hundred very few known paintings, drawings and prints created in Éragny between 1884 and 1903 and coming from the greatest museum and private collections in the world illustrate the less studied period of the artist's career.
