Auteur(s) : Jean-Pierre & Naïma Jornod

RARE BOOK

This catalogue raisonné is the first book devoted to Le Corbusier's painted work. Published in two volumes, it gathers all his oil paintings on canvas, cartoon and panel. This book was drawn up in accordance with Le Corbusier Foundation in Paris which put all the necessary documents at the authors' disposal.

The reproduced paintings were the subject of a common exam between the authors and the Foundation. The set of the paintings presented in this catalogue is constituted of 462 works among which 24 unpublished ones in addition to the specification sheet, each listed work is accompanied by three columns: historic, exhibitions and bibliography. This book underlines the creative evolution of Le Corbusier, whose architectural realisations often concealed the painted work.
