The Château de Choisy was one of Louis XV's favourite residences from 1740 until the end of his reign in 1774. Previously the property of Mademoiselle de Montpensier, then of the Grand Dauphin, Madame de Louvois and finally Madame de Conti, the estate, located near the great hunting forests, attracted the young king, who acquired it and created an intimate setting, away from Versailles and the pressures of the Court.
The architect Ange-Jacques Gabriel, the king's architect, was in charge of the fittings and the best artists of the century worked together to take part in its decoration. Only a few rare vestiges of the castle remain today.
Thanks to exceptional 3D reconstructions and numerous archive documents, this book offers a privileged discovery of this estate with a royal destiny.
