L'art À Cuba

Auteur(s) : Gilbert Brownstone

Cuban contemporary art has never had such a plurality of aesthetic practices, so many emerging artists and young talents, events and exhibitions as it does today. The generation of artists presented in this book was formed after the revolution when access to culture and education became a top priority. Their practice is fundamentally enriched by the island, a land of crossbreeding and cultural melting pot.

Illustrated with images by Camilo Guevara, son of Che, this book offers a discovery of the workshops and a meeting with some thirty of the most important Cuban artists who express themselves freely here on their training, their influences and the place of art in Cuba.
