Jean-Michel Alberola : Tableaux

Auteur(s) : Catherine Grenier, Claire Stoullig, Dominique Païni

Since the beginning of the 80s, Jean-Michel Alberola (1953) has been creating a multifaceted work between conceptualism, abstraction and figuration. At the centre of this poetic and committed work, the question of the surface of the painting is predominant.
This book gathers for the first time a set of more than 250 paintings from the 1980s to nowadays, allowing to see the extent of his unique pictorial practice. An essay by Claire Stoullig and a long interview with Catherine Grenier highlight the artist's approach and allow to understand his work.
