Jardins D'angleterre

Auteur(s) : Collectif

From the formal gardens of the Renaissance to the herbaceous Arts and Crafts gardens of the twentieth century, to the artistic creations and healing gardens of contemporary designers, this book spans seven centuries and highlights over 60 of England's finest gardens.

This volume highlights the enduring appeal of the English garden and presents gardens by historic figures and great contemporary designers, including Gertrude Jekyll, Sarah Price, William Robinson and Tom Stuart-Smith. Also included are historic national treasures such as the garden at Sissinghurst Castle and Capability Brown's Blenheim Palace, as well as contemporary examples such as Dan Pearson's Lowther Castle and Derek Jarman's Prospect Cottage.

Each entry is illustrated with sumptuous photographs and includes a concise text detailing the historical and stylistic importance of the garden, as well as that of its designer, patron or creator.
