This book is the catalogue of the retrospective devoted to Georges Braque, from his Fauvist beginnings to the great late studios, via his decisive contribution to Cubism, his neoclassicism, his stage sets, his mythological subjects, his still lifes and his birds.

His links with other avant-garde artists (Picasso, Laurens) and poets (René Char, Francis Ponge) are also examined.
