Carven

Auteur(s) : Dominique Paulve

Founded in 1945, Carven has set out to shape a new fashion, indeed a new way of life. Its founder, Marie-Louise Carven (1909-2015), was always a modern woman who set herself apart with fresh, elegant designs. Stripes quickly became the brand's hallmark thanks to the success of the Ma Griffe collection, and the haute couture house evolved thanks to creations that have become legendary.

After the departure of its founder in 1993 and the abandonment of haute couture, the brand was taken over by different people and went into a slow decline before regaining its lustre in 2000 with the opening of a new boutique in Paris and its participation in numerous fashion shows.

This book retraces Carven's various creations, as well as the history of this house that has become a fashion benchmark, revolutionising French fashion and continuing to shine around the world to this day.
