French Modernism At The Guggenheim: Thannhauser Collection

Auteur(s) : Megan Fontanella

Collector and dealer Justin K. Thannhauser (1892-1976) bequeathed his collection to the Guggenheim, which today forms the core of the museum's Impressionist, Post-Impressionist, and École de Paris collections, including 32 works by Pablo Picasso.

This book presents the Thannhauser collection in its entirety, offering a concentrated overview of works by modern masters such as Braque, Cézanne, Degas, Gauguin, Manet, Picasso, Pissarro and Van Gogh, among others. The works are presented in a rich and detailed context, with views of historical installations and high-tech conservation images.
