This monograph presents the life and work of French sculptor Antoine Coysevox (1640-1720), the first in his art to lead, in 1703, the Académie royale de peinture et de sculpture. Dukes and peers' sculptor by his funerary monuments, portraitist of the royal family and other personalities of his time, he was recognized during his lifetime as a genius and forged Louis XIV's image as new Alexander.
