Rébé : Broderies Haute Couture

Rébé's embroideries, a little-known "gold nugget" of France's textile heritage, have supplied haute couture designers for over half a century. More than 50 years after the closure of the workshop, its name still resonates like a myth among couturiers.

Thanks to the fashion magazines of the time (Vogue, L'Officiel de la Mode, Harper's Bazaar, etc.) as well as to the archives left by Rébé at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, at the Musée du Pays Rabastinois, or preserved by houses such as Balenciaga, Dior, Roger Vivier, Swarovski, Yves Saint Laurent, etc., this book retraces the history of Rébé and of the duo who ran the workshop, René Bégué and Andrée Pichard.
