In this first monograph devoted to Marc du Plantier (1901-1975), major interior decorator of the 20th century, the art historian Yves Badetz relates his work through his sketchbooks and the letters explaining to his wife the details of his installations. His first realisations set his architectural style, defined by the precision of lines, indirect light and mirror effects. His art reaches its peak rue du Belvédère in Boulogne-sur-Seine, where Anne and Marc du Plantier entertain the Parisian smart set in the 1930s. Then follow the apartment overlooking Algiers bay, Madrid palaces, Parisian 1950s apartments, the salon of the French embassy in Ottawa, and the creation of Artedecor in Mexico.
