Le Siège Et Sa Garniture

Auteur(s) : Claude Ossut

Reprint

Numerous books on furniture, notably on seats, were written, but none until here was devoted to the seat furnishings. The art of tapestry makers was treated as a “poor relation”, the original furnishings were often replaced because of their wear or the evolution of the comfort, for example with the apparition of the prongs which replaced the straps.

Claude Ossut tells a story of the seat furnishings from the Renaissance to the 90s, and the subject clear and attractive by his choice of particularly evocative examples.
