Juan Gris Dessinateur De Presse : Catalogue Raisonné 1904-1912

Auteur(s) : Raymond Bachollet

This catalogue raisonne, result of Raymond Bachollet's researches, represents a great contribution to the knowledge of the press-illustration works of the Madrid-born painter Juan Gris (1887-1927), their number being largely undervalued until now.
From his first collaboration in 1904 to Spanish reviews (“Estraza”, “Renacimiento Latino”...) to his important participation to French periodicals as “l'Assiette au Beurre”, “Charivari” or “Frou-Frou”, Juan Gris published more than 700 drawings, a great number of them associated in this book to the original ones.
This publication follows the catalogue of painted work by Douglas Cooper and precedes the catalogue of works on paper currently prepared by Quentin Laurens (Galerie Louis Leiris).
