Youla Chapoval Catalogue Raisonné De L'oeuvre Peint

Auteur(s) : Evelyne et Marie-Laure Moisset

This book is the catalogue raisonné of the painted work of Youla Chapoval (Kiev 1919 - Paris 1951), who was one of the most promising artists of the Ecole de Paris. Considered by some journalists as "the Picasso of the future", he was awarded the Kandinsky prize in 1949 and was exhibited, among others, in the musée d'Art moderne de la ville de Paris and in the musée d'Art moderne in Villeneuve d'Ascq. In less than a decade, he became famous to the greatest painters and collectors of the time (Picasso, Dutilleul, Gildas Fardel, etc.) before dying in Montmartre, aged 32.
