The essence of Japanese culture, the Japanese garden embodies the spirit and philosophy of the country. It is distinguished by its style, the quality of its materials and the importance it places on detail.

This book presents the work of 20 contemporary masters of Japanese garden design, located in various parts of Japan and set in different contexts: private homes, temples, cafés, restaurants, shops, etc. Some are traditional in appearance, others have a resolutely modern aesthetic. What they all have in common is that they have been influenced by Japanese culture and society.

For each garden, the book includes a text that reveals the concept behind its design and the use of plants, as well as photographs that examine both the details and the general aesthetic.
