L'art De L'archipel Bismarck

Presentation of the art of the Bismarck Islands, which are scattered throughout Western Melanesia. The authors examine the natural materials used to make these often colorful artifacts: plant fibers, wood, bark cloth, trunk pulp. They provide a history of the discovery of the archipelago's culture by Europeans and a synthesis of local traditions.
