Hôtel De Bourrienne : Aventures Entrepreneuriales

Auteur(s) : Thierry Sarmant

The Hôtel de Bourrienne, in the 10th arrondissment of Paris, is the only private residence remaining in Paris to evoke the atmosphere of the Directoire and Consulate periods. Since the end of the Enlightenment, great speculators, financiers, manufacturers and captains of industry have succeeded one another within its walls with the aim of preserving a heritage rich in memories.

This book offers a historical presentation of the Hôtel de Bourrienne, which has regained the singularity and elegance of its architecture and decors after four years of ambitious restoration. The atmosphere of the place bears witness to the setting in which Fortunée Hamelin, at the time of the Merveilleuses, and Louis Antoine Fauvelet de Bourrienne, secretary and friend of Napoleon, lived.
