Illegitimate child of Piranese and Walt Disney, the draughtsman Laurent de Commines (1960- ) reinterprets with his brush some fleeting moments of the 20th century which testify of a picturesque world being shined by decorators and aesthetes as Paul Poiret, Diaghilev, Madeleine Castaing, Alexis de Rédé or David Hicks. These imaginary allegories, these "fancies", invented but plausible, offer a ardent but amused trip through the intricacies of the last century.
